Nelson Residence
House Size 50 SQ
Contemporary coastal living with a focus on design and functionality
A bold expression of modern coastal architecture, Nelson Residence is a striking 50-square custom home by Beachstone Homes, located in Port Bay on the Mornington Peninsula. Designed to embrace its coastal setting, the home combines contemporary architecture, considered material selections and innovative design to create a sophisticated yet practical family residence.
The home’s distinctive reverse living layout has been carefully planned to maximise sweeping views across Western Port Bay. By positioning the main living areas to take advantage of the elevated outlook, the design creates generous, light-filled spaces that connect naturally with the surrounding landscape.
Architectural Design and Coastal Living
A carefully designed stepped floor slab allows the residence to respond to the natural contours of the site while creating soaring internal ceilings and a strong connection to the garden surrounds. Expansive balconies extend the living spaces outdoors, providing opportunities to enjoy the coastal environment and views throughout the seasons.
An internal garden introduces greenery and natural light into the heart of the home, softening the contemporary architecture and creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces. The combination of generous glazing, open-plan living and carefully considered proportions delivers a home that feels both spacious and connected to its surroundings.
